Our Sustainability Mission

Since 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals have been adopted by countries all around the world, in a bid to “end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.”

At Venue@Cornerstone, we believe these are goals that everyone should adopt, in order to make them achievable. We recently looked at how we manage our venue, and what changes we can implement to ensure our building is sustainable, and our guests can make an educated decision in choosing our venue.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

We work hard to source sustainable and bio-degradable products within our events space. All our waste is sorted to ensure we are recycling everything we possibly can.

Supporting Local.

Our chosen caterer is not only a local organisation it is also a social enterprise, that employs and supports individuals with disabilities, giving them valuable skills, which can help them in their daily lives.

Sustainable Building

We have a dedicated aim to improve the environment. The electric supply we use is from 100% renewable energy which also includes the Solar Panels we have on the roof.
Keeping Bee’s

We have two beehives on the roof of our building, promoting sustainability for urban bees to carry out their important role in our environment. The honey they create has many great health benefits and is also available for employees to purchase and sold locally.

Hybrid Meeting Facilities

Along with the pandemic, came the realisation that everyone can easily attend the same event in multiple locations using hybrid technology. Allowing events to take place virtually from multiple locations can reduce the travel needed to attend events nationally and internationally. Our excellent hybrid meeting facilities mean that global and nationwide organisations can meet virtually from our venue, using our dynamic technology that gives all attendees a holistic experience time after time.

Local Transport

For those who travel to Venue@Cornerstone, our venue is situated in the town centre, with excellent transport links to all parts of the UK and further afield. These details are provided to guests upon booking to allow them to plan their journey to Cornerstone in the most sustainable way.

We hope that, by implementing each of the above steps, we can do our part in creating a sustainable future and allow our guests to gain comfort in the knowledge that by choosing our venue, they too are working towards the same goals to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure all people can enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.
