Stockport Homes Group, the boroughs largest housing organisation, has been recognised across two prestigious awards, winning 4 accolades both internationally and at home in the North.

The Group made a huge contribution to the wellbeing of customers and colleagues throughout the pandemic, from ensuring customers had access to food and furniture, had welfare calls and help with employment and energy bills through to the launch of a brand new approach to flexible work for colleagues. This approach has been rewarded with winning the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Northern award for the high-quality service delivery through the pandemic. Following this SHG went on to win the Bronze award at the International Customer Experience Award for the response and service delivery throughout the pandemic – side by side with large organisations from across the globe.

Within SHG, a key focus is the health and wellbeing of colleagues – a commitment to support and encourage teams to be engaged and connected is key to delivering excellent services to customers and supporting the mission of ‘One Team, Transforming Lives’ – this approach to the culture won the award at the CIH Northern Awards for The Excellence in Health & Wellbeing Award for leading operations through the pandemic, resulting in top performance, reduced sickness, and maintaining the highest levels of engagement.

Finally, at CIH Northern, Eleanor Edgar who is a Manager at a Temporary Accommodation Scheme scooped the title of ‘Young Achiever’ of the year award – a very prestigious title which really highlights Eleanor’s commitment, passion and flair in putting customers first.
