Colleagues from across Stockport Homes Group embarked on a truly challenging adventure this Spring, as 18 miles of trails, hills, slopes and paths saw them complete a large section of the Sandstone Trail, raising over £1,200 for their Charity of Choice, Once Upon a Smile.

The fundraiser, which contributed towards the group’s charitable commitments, started in Tarporley before passing through the picturesque Delamere Forest and eventually finishing after 8 hours of walking.

“The walk was (much!) tougher than we had envisaged, I’m sure I am not the only one that hadn’t expected as many hills and climbs! It certainly wasn’t an easy trek and so your support means even more to us and of course to Once Upon a Smile. I got huge pleasure talking to some colleagues who I don't get to speak to as often, and some interesting life stories, health tips, and laughs were all part of the team bonding." Once Upon a Smile is a children’s bereavement charity and has provided practical and emotional support to families to enable them to adjust to a new life without their loved one for over 10 years. Over the past 12 months, the partnership with Stockport Homes group has gone from strength-to-strength, surpassing the £21,000 mark through fundraising activity which will directly support the delivery of 970 bereavement sessions every year.
