Stockport Homes Group Named Number 1 Housing Association
The illustrious awards celebrate excellence in the workplace, something Stockport Homes Group have always had at the heart of their services. 14 years since their first entry, the group’s mission ‘One Team, Transforming Lives’ is as strong as ever: a unique approach to driving meaningful change within the organisation and delivering world class levels of engagement, growth and inclusivity.
The milestone achievement comes after Stockport Homes Group implemented several ground-breaking initiatives, such as colleague groups that celebrate the diversity and champion voice, innovative growth pathways that provide opportunities to learn new skills and develop careers and on-going welfare support in the form of free counselling, money and energy advice during times of economy uncertainty.
Participating organisations up and down the country take part in the anonymous survey, which generates an accurate account of employee welfare, productivity, inclusion and effective leadership before the position of each entrant is confirmed.
Special Recognition
On 3rd November 2022, Stockport Homes Group received a special recognition award at the Best Companies ceremony in Battersea, London. The accolade denotes ‘Giving Something Back’; innovative approaches to supporting local charities or community groups in Stockport and efforts to mitigate impacts on the environment.
Stockport Homes Group are working towards a future where both customers and colleagues benefit from the environments they protect. To date, the organisations fleet comprises of 7 hybrid and 4 fully electric vehicles, last year their dedicated energy team conducted 1,031 free home advice visits to customers and overall, the group aim to reduce carbon emissions by 40% by 2025.
Their partnership work ensures that the ever-present goal is to improve the lives of all customers. Since the turn of the year, £20,000 has been raised for their Charity of Choice, Once Upon a Smile, who support bereaved families in their time of need. Collaborating with Beacon Counselling, Stockport Homes group are also providing a free counselling service to all their customers - a vital resource given economic uncertainties and how it will impact on people’s wellbeing.
People are at the centre and core of Stockport Homes Group and this accreditation is testament to their resilience, passion and innovation in working together towards one common goal, delivering excellent services to customers.
