Best Companies celebrate excellence in the workplace, something Stockport Homes Group has at the heart of its services. 15 years after being identified as a Best Employer, the group’s mission, ‘One Team, Transforming Lives,’ still encapsulates an approach to driving excellent customer service and delivering world-class levels of engagement.

A special recognition award (our third), this year for our approach to ‘Giving Something Back,’ recognises the commitment shown to charitable activity and supporting staff to volunteer for local causes. Within our first 6 months with our current Charity of Choice, the Wellspring, we have raised over £10,000, through activities including the Manchester 10k run, Dragon Boat Race competition and a Charity sleepout.

Further to this is the continued commitment to making Stockport greener, with investment to help customers reduce their energy bills, helping local families with affordable groceries through the local pantry scheme, and maximising opportunities for local employment through a partnership with B4Box.

We are delighted this year to be recognised as the number one Best Association, 8th in the Best 100 Large Companies to Work for in the UK and have been named the 14th Best Company to Work for in the North West. 

Several innovative initiatives such as colleague groups that celebrate diversity and champion voice, innovative growth pathways that provide opportunities to learn new skills and develop careers, and ongoing welfare support in the form of free counselling, money and energy advice during times of economic uncertainty all play their part in this recognition.
