The Mayor of Greater Manchester celebrates Apprentices at Stockport Homes Group
The Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham joined apprentices at Stockport Homes Group on Wednesday 25th May to celebrate their success and recognise the resilience shown over the past 2 years.
Apprentices working within the organisation have been at the forefront of delivering essential services to some of the most vulnerable people in the borough. Services such as Money Advice, temporary accommodation supporting those experiencing homelessness and trades apprentices carrying out essential repairs to customers’ homes.
During the presentation, Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham said
It is good to be able to come back and thank you for what you have done. It was a tough time to come in and I have a sense of what you have been doing in that time supporting people who really needed the help. So, a massive thank you for doing that. I would say to you all that the skills you will learn are going to stand you in good stead for wherever you go in terms of your career. I think working in an organisation like this gives you the best possible people skills and the best customer skills.Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham
Our apprenticeships offer the opportunity to earn and learn on the job, the opportunity to experience Stockport Homes Group culture and set them off on the right path in their working life. We are excited about growing our apprenticeship approach in the future and being a role model of what a good apprenticeship programme looks like.Jenny Osbourne, Chair of Stockport Homes Board
