GMP and Stockport Homes join forces to close property affected by persistent Anti-Social Behaviour
The Safer Neighbourhoods Team at Stockport Homes Group have successfully claimed possession back of a property at Durham House on York Street Estate, Stockport this was following a closure order which was obtained on 13th September 2023.
The Closure order was obtained following an escalation in reports of serious antisocial behaviour occurring at the property which was having a detrimental effect on the local residents and the community.
Working closely with Greater Manchester Police, and the Council, the Safer Neighbourhoods Team have been able to gather sufficient evidence to take legal action against the property and its tenant.
Possession of this property will reassure residents and the local community, that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated, and action will be taken against those who commit anti-social behaviour.

A property on Durham House, Edgeley was closed after officers acted on complaints of antisocial behaviour from neighbours in September 2023. “Working in partnership Stockport Homes, GMP closed the premises for an initial three months, extended later to six months.
