This course is ideal for anyone interested in the housing sector – whether you're looking to start a career or upskill. Here's a quick breakdown of what is covered:
- Housing Basics
- Stockport Homes
- Understanding Our Customers
- Interpersonal Communication
- Problem Solving
- Working with Other People
- Work Skills
Qualification & Success: The course leads to a Level 2 certificate, awarded by NCFE, with opportunities to gain unit-specific accreditations as well.
Here’s some of the amazing success stories from past participants:
- Adele Stewart completed the Intro to Housing course in 2023 and went on to become an Independent Living Assistant Apprentice. In 2025, she was nominated for the Apprentice of the Year Award – a testament to the impact of the course on her career!
- Siddra Faisal completed the Intro to Housing course in 2024 and then secured a role as a Social Inclusion Apprentice, taking the first steps toward a fulfilling career in housing.
- Farah Tazin, who joined the course in 2025, had a unique opportunity during the program. She participated in the 'Treasure Hunt' exercise, going around the office and interviewing staff to learn more about Stockport Homes. Farah, who has a qualification in asset management, spoke to the manager of that team and impressed them so much that she was offered a work placement. Thanks to the support from her Employment Officer, Alice, the placement started on April 22nd!
